People often say that Bhagavad Gita is a book that has Answers to All Your Questions. But is it actually true? Well, yes it is true! It is not just a religious book but a book which gives you the way to live.
The setting for Bhagavad Gita is the battle field of Kurukshetra (Mahabharta) where Arjun is confused and Lord Krishna becomes his mentor and gives him guidance so that he can now start doing what he is meant to do is right.
So every young man or lady is going to have confusions and dilemmas to do or not to do, to be or to not to be and that’s exactly how the Gita begins.
It begins with confusions, dilemmas, lack of meaning and Lord Krishna empowers Arjuna to make his own choices and that’s what exactly every individual must do in his life.
Krishna only acts as a facilitator and empowers Arjuna that he is way more powerful than the people he is going to face in the battle field.
So every young man and woman needs to understand that you are way more powerful than what you are going through at that moment, their confusions are smaller than them, their challenges are smaller than them, their problems are smaller than them, even their heartbreaks painful as they are still smaller than them and you have the capacity to overcome all such sufferings and problems going on in their life.
So that’s where exactly the Bhagavad Gita helps a lot because they helps to build in you the sense of confidence, strength and fortitude that you have the power as a spiritual being to overcome everything that’s going on in your life.
You have the power to make a difference that impacts your life and even your loved ones in a positive way.
3 biggest lessons that you can learn from Bhagavad Gita are:
1.Life is just like the seasons changing every year.
In the 2nd chapter of Bhagavad Gita, krishna talks about the seasons that changes every year. It says that just because the seasons change, have we ever stopped performing our duties, our work? No! we never never stopped performing our duties.
Let’s explain it with an example, that in Chicago the temperature is -27 degrees Celsius, people don’t stop doing their work and in Delhi the temperature is 42 degrees Celsius, and people are still doing work and performing their duties with their regular life with just few adjustments.
That’s what exactly the text in chapter 2 of Bhagavad Gita tries to explain that we have to learn to tolerate the ups and downs and not be distracted by them from the main purpose of our life.Tolerating failures and pains we can understand but it is also important to tolerate our success, because whether it is good or bad both distracts us from what we are meant to do.
2. Your Mind is Your Best Friend And An Enemy
According to verse from Bhagavad Gita’s sixth chapter is that your mind can being a friend or an enemy to you only because of the way you deal with the mind.
If you befriend your mind, the mind will become your friend and will empower you to do what you want to do.
But if you will not deal with it properly then your mind will become your enemy and will lead you towards your downfall.
Lets explain this also with an example, many of us wanted to get up early in morning to do workout or walk to be fit and set it as your schedule or a resolution. You even set up the alarm clock so that you could wake up early in morning, finally when the alarm goes, mind starts to play!
The first thing that you slept late last night, just take it easy or may be this is not the right thing for you to do. Mind starts playing games with you.
So if you have a mind like this which gives you these kinds of reasons, you will definitely not going to wake up and if on the other hand you train your mind using a proper reasoning process, your mind will definitely become your greatest asset and best friend.
You can train your mind by doing meditation, reading good books, correct friends, good surroundings and company so that your mind can become your best friend rather than being ended up as an enemy.
3. Divinity Is Everywhere
We people generally go to a particular place to worship. But we forget this thing that the divinity is everywhere and in every aspect of life.
Divinity is present in nature, it’s present in other people and everywhere.
You should start looking at the splendor of creation and it’s creator. Whenever we look at someone who is better than us specially when they are in same field, usually we start feeling insure and have a sense of insecurity or there will be envy, jealously and sometimes it goes to the sabotaging the other person’s work and this happens in the world.
But when you start looking at the divinity in creation, you start looking at how divinity has empowered somebody to do something in a special way that person has been gifted by high powers and to sabotage that person’s work or to be envious about the person of feeling insecure means you are actually insulting somebody who is given that gift.
Instead you must derive inspiration from that person and seek that inspiration to follow your aspiration.
So start looking at divinity around you and at every place and even in people who are doing better than you because it’s not them you can see straight away but something’s beyond them that makes them do it.
Hope these lessons will help you remove all the negatives from your life and happiness imparts it’s way to make your life beautiful.
